AfterLife - is there a heaven?

Postby Normies on Fri, Nov 19 2004, 2:43 AM

Where do we go when we past away. The south east Indians belive in life after death and comming back as animals, some Africans belive we become roaming spirits. But even if we dont belive in God, or a religion..we still have to belive there is life after death, no?

When my grandmother was in the hospitol, before she passed on, she was starring at the ceiling( by then it was night) she soflty saying.." los angilitos"..she was seeing visions of angles, and pajaros. She was in so much pain, but she was seeing those things. I asked her if they were good or bad, and she said they were bueno. Her eyes(pupils) were even following something. She was even seeing the sun...she passed away the next day. Could it have been a medical reflex? Maybe. But I still think it was one of the most amazeing things i ever witnissed...it brought me closer to belive that there is a heaven...possibly even that paradise we hear so much about in books. It also made me want to speak less harsh on religion and be less skeptical. hmm.

I believe in Heaven. I believe my Mother is in heaven. I guess I can say a lot in this forum, but I won't because I don't know what happens when we die. I want to believe that someday I am worthy enough to enter the pearly gates....to be with my mommy. Maybe someday God will come to me, and take a hold of me....so I can live a clean happy life.

EDIT: BTW, normies...that was beautiful! I believe your Grandmother is in Heaven, aslo... :D

silly,
sorry to hear about your mom. That has to be incredibly tuff. I can only imagine . I am sure your going to be a really really strong and good mother because of what happend though. Some of us, have not even been through much adversity, like myself, besides my grandma, I dont think I ever known what is was like to loose someone I loved or suffer in other ways. but I guess we all have to go through it.. :Rosa:

ahh yeah vampz, i agree about the roaming spirits.. That stuff kinda scares me though. I agree too that they dont go for reasons like they arent ready or they need to accomplish somethin.

As for Hell..I often wonder if that is just a place where poeple who did wrong just refuse to repent and ask forgiveness for something really bad that they did ...or they dismised God as their saviour .Funny thig is, the Core of our earth is a flaming hot Ball. I think its Ironic that biblical philosphy knew that a hot " hell" exsisted under the ground thousands of years before scientist figuerd the core out. :?

I thougt this was an interesting article on Hell...Um..god bless this post. :Corazon:
lol

"[b]The first thing the Bible tells us about Hell is that it is a pit. In Isaiah 14:15, Ezekiel 31:16, we read that Hell is a pit. We read that this pit of Hell is in the depths of the earth. In Proverbs 9:18, the Bible mentions the depth of Hell. Isaiah 14:9 says that Hell is beneath the earth. Ezekiel 31:17 uses the phrase, “down into hell.â€

Right, but dont you think that earthquakes and volcanoes erupting hot lava all around the earth sort of... influanced this thinking of a hot hell?

I've was raised with the belief that there is no heaven or hell. That even after we die, we still have to wait for jesus coming before we are resurrected.
But the bible also says something abour our souls, or breath, being taken up and waiting for that time to happen. So im not sure what that means or what happens after. But im leaning towards the belief that once we die, thats it. No more. Until then anyway.

I think that de-vou's are lingering memories from our past lives....but I live in Kalifoooornia, so it's ok to think that.

I suppose it is easy to say that when you live such a stable or standard life. What about the people living in Africa like Kinya where the majority of the population is starving or has Aids, or like the millions of children in the world working as sexual slaves. The majority of the people in the world live in Poverty. If you ask me, we are practically almost living in Hell. I belive there is more out there than living on plant earth

-and there is puffy clouds :jumm:
