High School

Education & reference

Postby crazyiris on Tue, Feb 12 2008, 1:14 AM

Hell I dropped out of high school the first week of 11th grade.
I did go to prom and grad night with my best friends. But didn't graduate on stage. I did get my G.E.D a year later.

I would go back to high school in the quickness if I could.

:cool: I like the advice Erica gave, young people it is a very competitive world in the workforce when you get out of school.#1 Even more so when papa and mama are not around to lend a helping hand anymore. The real world on your own can be hard, if you do not get a good education. So be sure and consider going to college,as a matter of fact you guys need to start taking your assessment tests now! Do not wait till later.These tests will give you a solid basis to work with, in helping provide choices in the careers which you would most be suited for in the workplace. See your career guidance counselors at your high school, or better yet go to your local college, talk to the counselors there and take their career assessment tests also. Now that you have a clear picture of where your strengths are, you proceed to the next step.

Check out this wonderful handbook, is The next step to assure your future success: Would you believe that I talk to college students all the time, that don't even know this guide exists!

Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH), 2008-09 Edition

For hundreds of different types of jobs—such as teacher, lawyer, and nurse—the Occupational Outlook Handbook tells you:

* the training and education needed
* earnings
* expected job prospects
* what workers do on the job
* working conditions

In addition, the Handbook gives you job search tips, links to information about the job market in each State, and more.

Apply for financial aid, if you qualify: The financial aid counselors at the college you will be attending will be happy to help you fill out the paperwork.

One last thought, I see that some of you have a talent for writing. A degree in English or Communications, or an Advertising Degree and you can work in Advertising & Public Relations, or maybe a Radio Tv and Film Degree,a Graphic Arts Degree etc is not only interesting but can be very rewarding, with all the things you can do with multimedia, and the Web.Not only that but the right college training will also help you become a great writer! Whatever you do do not waste your talent or your future,GO TO COLLEGE!LOL Always! :rosa: QUE VIVA LA RAZA!
