Yes, I saw this on TV a few months back, we were talking about the different people (friends) we stay in contact with that are in the military right now-serving in Iraq- and sharing with one another some of the things that we've talked about. Striking isn't it-we're sending our loved ones overseas to fight others but yet at the same time we're fighting one another. Unbelievable.

ITS BEEN GOING ON FOR DECADES. EVER SINCE HOMIES STARTED COMING BACK FROM WWII AND KOREA, THE COMBINATION OF GUNS, DRUGS AND RESENTMENT BROUGHT SOME VERY REAL VIOLENCE TO OUR NEIGHBORHOODS. BUT IT TOOK VIETNAM TO REALLY KICK IN THE MODERN ERA OF GANGS. IN LOS ANGELES WHEN IN THE 1970s AND 1980s BROUGHT ALL THOSE PEOPLE FROM WAR TORN COUNTRIES LIKE VIETNAM, CAMBODIA, NICARAGUA AND EL SALVADOR, IT FUSED TOGETHER WITH THE SHIFT OF TRAFFICKING FROM MIAMI AND THE EAST COAST TO THE MEXICAN BORDER AND WEST COAST AS THE MAIN ENTRY POINTS FOR COKA COMING OUT OF SUD AMERICA, WELL THEN, HERE WE ARE FACED TODAY WITH A SPECIALIZED MILITARY TYPE OF ATHMOSPHERE REQUIRED IN MANY GANGS BOTH ON THE STREET LEVEL AND IN THE UNDERGROUND LEVEL TOO.

ITS LIKE THE SAYING GOES . . .

YOU CAN TAKE THE HOMEBOY OUT OF THE BARRIO, BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE THE BARRIO OUT OF THE HOMEBOY.

Even before WWII and Korea this has been happening-it's always been there, it's just now more people are talking about it, they making others more aware of what has been happening. Examples- you have the 'buffalo soldiers', native americans and so on. Oh most definitely-las drogas de sur america have had (and still do for that matter)a major impact, helped to shape and define how things look today and how they will be in the future. ^ ^ I agree Caker. Good that you have your eyes wide open to those facts. Many people can't even begin to understand people like Joaquin Murrieta and the like. Most people can't even phantom the everlasting beef against los Rinches. Most people think this all began just yesterday, when in fact ~> it is ancient as fuck (excuse the language).
