wikipedia

Emo is also often associated with a certain fashion. The term "emo" is sometimes stereotyped with tight jeans on males and females alike, long fringe (bangs) brushed to one side of the face or over one or both eyes, dyed black, straight hair, tight t-shirts (sometimes with short-sleves) which often bear the names of rock bands (or other designed shirts), studded belts, belt buckles, canvas sneakers or skate shoes or other black shoes (often old and beaten up) and thick, black horn-rimmed glasses. Emo fashion has changed with time. Early trends included straight, unparted hair (similar to that of Romulans and Vulcans in Star Trek), tightly fitting sweaters, button-down shirts, and work jackets.[citation needed] This fashion has at times been characterized as a fad.

Another example of hair characteristic of emoIn recent years the popular media has associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angsty. It is also associated with depression, self-injury, and suicide.

Urban Dictionary

emos are a group of people that are similar to goths, they wear alot of black, tight jeans and a tight uually black hooded zipped jumper. they listen to alot of pop punk and gothik music.the classic Emo fringe (which i have and love) covers alot of the face usually just to one side. converse one of the many types of foot where worn by emo's.
not all emos cut themselves, but alot do. i for one dont and i no all of my emo freinds dont. emo is short for Emotional, which does point out we are emotional people. yer we cry, what u gunna do about it. chavs usually hav fun shouting at emos stuf like "awww is little emo kid gunna go cry" this aint funni Emos leave them alone so why pick on us we didnt do anything to you.

The stereotype for a kid(13-19) who has a lower tolerance for sad emotions, and feels inadiquet of their own personal worth(feels like they arent good enough). Many emos feel so depressed that they resort to cutting to themselves. Emo boys often weird girls pants and dye their hair black, with a pyrimid spiked belt, and tight tee shirts(usualy black). It is known that emos have a kind of rule that 2/5 of their face must be covered by hair, although it is actualy a subconscious feeling of wanting to cover up their sadness(eyes).

THE HOMIES WITH THE BLUE PAñO ARE SOUTH SIDERS, THEY'RE PROBABLY ON THE GANG FILES, THEREFORE THEY NEED TO KEEP THEIR FACES OFF THE INTERNET FOR PAROLE REASONS, 'CAUSE THEY ALL HAVE RECORDS MORE THAN LIKELY. WHILE ON THE OTHER HAND YOU HAVE THE RED RAGGEDY NORTETAS THAT LOOK LIKE THEY JUST GOT THEIR TRAMOS OUT OF THE LAVANDERIA. NO STYLE AT ALL. AND THE THIRD FLIKAS, WHO ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO BE? SOME MID WEST CLIQUE OR SOMETHING? SPORTING YELLOW FLAGS LIKE THE ASIANS!!! 360 STRONG, THAT AIN'T SHIT.
