Pep dijo:
Good topic!

If it's emotional, I think in Spanish; when my brothers and I are hanging out taking sh!# to each other, cusing or appreciating the beauty of a woman, it's in Spanish. If I'm expressing my feelings to woman, it has to be in Spanish. If I have to do it in English, I am translating.

Everything else, like logical or learned stuff I think in English.

Kinda makes sense for me....I spoke Spanish with mis jefes until I went to school, then it was mostly English. My heart belongs to Mexico and my brain to the USofA.

Knowing two or more languages is great for the brain, several studies have supported this theory.

[] Good Post..I could relate to this post moreso than the others...

[Cool] I'm with Diana, I think that if you speak, read, or write in two languages, or more, that you can adapt as the situation demands it. the human brain is like a computer, and it will respond according to the knowledge inherent within in it, with that which it finds most suitable for each occasion! Most important one should not stereotype oneself into one certain manner of doing something, because life is always in a constant state of flux. For example lets say you moved away and lived in Japan for ten years, then you moved again and lived in Russia for another ten years, your mind would certainly learn and adapt itself to many different things by learning new languages, cultures etc.And you would certainly think different that you do now, because of the new training stimuli your brain has been exposed to,LOL!

Yup I'm a spanglish person too and some people like my mom gets mad at me, she says that I need to either talk in spanish or in english no los dos... whatever... [Rolling Eyes] I like the way I talk and think and there are ALOT of people who do the same! Its all good, as long as we don't lose our roots and know who were are, I'm tex-mex = spanglish [Wink] [Peace!]

Most of what's spoken and thought of is in English. I find speaking in Spanish easier around people I'm comfortable around, you know people I find myself able to sit back and relax and laugh with. With others, you people that I just talk to then I speak in English. Don't know if that makes sense. [Hmmm]

I think in english most times, but because we speak almost all spanish in the home, then I find myself translating things (unconsciously) outside the home, in spanish ..

However, more than not, I speak no given language - I never can think of a word I need in english, spanish, nor spanglish .. it really sux and I get frustrated .. lol .. [Pounding fists!]

Interesting subject. I think mostly in english or nahuatl, occasionally spanish since i am not fluent wit that other European language. But I think with english only in the sense that if i were to audibly play my thoughts that is what you hear, albeit my mode of thought and my mannerisms are primarily native/circular perspectives.
very interesting tho, makes me want to indulge more in beautiful nahuatl more.
