When you go to rent a house or apartment you expect the management staff to check your credit, maybe ask where you've lived before, but what if they wanted to check you for tattoos or body piercings?


Believe it or not, a San Antonio couple was rejected by an apartment complex because the husband had tattoos on his arms. Some complexes here in town also won't let you move in if you have certain body parts pierced or have too many earrings.

Is it discrimination? Or a trend you will have to get used to if you are a renter?

Thats just plain down right stupid. I also seen on MTV True Life, and there were couples trying to get an apt. and alot didnt get any cuz of gay or race. Someday they are going to be punished...

They should look at the history and credit like Diana said, who are they to judge, what if he was an ex-gang member trying to put his life back together? What if they are cholos what does that mean? Not all cholos are gang related things you know. I know some that are not down with gangs but they dress and talk if you will like a cholo?? Dude dont you like live in LA? Arent you like surrounded by gangs? lol j/k... And what just because he has tattoos and Mexican hes a gang member what if he was white and had tatts or an asian with tatts?

Okay, well if he was an ex gangmember trying to put all his past life behind them then thats a different story, but I mean if the guy is still into it then the landlord has the right to reject. People want to protect thier investments and if you got a guy that doesn't have a very good reputation he can end up being a drug dealer or he can cause problems with other gangs in the neighborhood then having to put other people in danger with thier gang bullshit. I'm not quick to judge unless it's the obvious. If a person dresses, and talks like a cholo then I will assume he is a cholo. If it acts and quacks and looks like a duck, then it's a fucking duck, lol. Why jeopardize the people at stake here, then who is the blame? The landlord all because he decided it was okay to let someone with a bad record live in his house.

Yeah, I actually do live around worthless gangs, don't see what that has to do with anything, I don't respect anyone who wastes thier time on it, lol I never said he was in a gang, I said that as an example. Same goes for white, black, asian people. Race shouldn't matter.

What does my attire have to do anything? We're talking about a guy being denied the right to rent a house because of his tattoos not my dress style, and no I'm not a cholo that is just an old picture of me way back when I used to fuck around with all that. I had bad influences around me so I thought I was "cool" and dressed and acted like them, realizing later on it was stupid.
