I was wondering if anyone here has attended ITT Tech, or Institute of Technology or any other career, technical school.

I just graduated from high school in June and i'm attending a community college but i dont think it's for me. I've been looking into Institute of Technology. I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me about this situation. thanx

I think you have your whole life too choose what is right for you. The important thing is that you chose to make a step in getting in some acedemic program. I regret not taking time off after i graduted highschool. I went straight to college and i feel like i missed out on a lot. So take a break, travel the world, have fun! []

College isnt for everyone and technical schools can be a good option. If you feel that the tech courses was not for you, you can always enroll back in a traditional college. Culinary sounds like a lot of fun!

my mom doesnt want me to take time off, but i agree with the whole college isnt 4 everyone....i think that if youre a hands on learner that technical college might b a better choice....just my thought

I dropped out of highschool when I was 18, but went back and now I'm working on getting my high school diploma. After I finish I doubt I'll go to any college since being a DJ doesn't require any school. I still gotta work on finishing up my high school though.

^ Hey, dont let bad grades stop you. You can always start fresh in community college or like you said tech school. I did horrible in high school, i didnt have very encourgeing parents either. I remember i received like a 1.0 grade point average my freshman year!!

It takes a lot of hard work and determiniation. I graduted from a 4 year college. Im doing pretty good. Anything is possible! Set your mind to it and the rest will follow!!

[Cool] Lokitz, I think what you have to really look at is #1. the "quality of the training?" in the technical or trade school that you are considering attending. #2 Ask them to show you how many of their Graduates have successfully been employed in the career you will be training for, after they graduated from their school? #3 "is the training complete," for example will you learn a trade A-Z, or will they just teach you very basic skills? By all means if you choose to go to a trade school, it can be very rewarding. But like I said before, consider #1 The quality of the training, #2 Are the people that are graduating from that particular school getting good, above average jobs? #3 Is the training at that school complete enough where you can compete with other students from other area schools for a job? Some trade schools are first class, while others are not very good. SO IF YOU GO TO A TRADE SCHOOL, PICK THE ONE WITH THE BEST REPUTATION FOR TRAINING, IN THE AREA OF EMPLOYMENT YOU SEEK! And don't be shy about making sure that you are picking the best trade & technical school for yourself. Because you deserve the best, and they are not giving their training away for free. But most importantly because you can make a lot of money in the future if you pick the right trade school!
Lol,
Good Luck & wishing you a beautiful future!

F.Solis
