I think people may get the worng first impression about the movie... Like it's some kind of GoodFellas movie where there is more blood shed then acting. It's not too much like that... so sure, it may be a little borring to some.
It takes place in the early 70's in the middle of the Vietnam war era...
<a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000243/" target="blank">Denzel Washington</a> plays the roll of Frank Lucas. Frank Lucas was a drug lord in Harlem around those times. in those days crooked cops would confiscate drugs, add more shit to it ( make it less potent ) and re sell it back to the streets or back to the drug lords who they conficated from in the first place. Frank Lucas went strait to the source and bought his heroin strait from Vietnam source during the war... he had people smuggle the drugs in dead soldiers coffins from the war. It was organized crime. I probably left out more info, but don't want to spoil it for you guys.
Maybe not the best movie, but the fact that it was based on 'real' events makes it interesting.
The "good cop" in the movie is played by <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000128/">Russell Crowe</a>
