Neighbors say Mario Gonzalez' home located north of town on Poinsettia Street was again surrounded by police units Monday night about 9pm.
Pharr Police confirms his arrest as of Friday with a charge for indecency with a child and is sitting behind bars with a $150-thousand dollar bond.
Action 4 News sources say police executed a search warrant Monday at Mario Gonzalez' residence Monday night where fire department personnel were called in to open a security safe box where child pornography material was allegedly found.
Pharr Police says they're working on writing the probable cause, but is not available at this time.
Back in October 2006, in other shocking news in Brownsville, a Cameron County jury convicted 56-year-old Joe Lopez, former lead singer of Grupo Mazz, of raping a young relative.
Grupo Mazz began playing in private parties and special events. Then during the '90's, Grupo Mazz became one of the top in the Tejano music scene.
According to the Pharr police investigator in charge of this case, Mario Gonzalez may be re-arraigned within a day or two at the latest.
