ebay shoppers...

Postby ur1nonly on Mon, Jan 14 2008, 2:04 AM

does anyone here shop on ebay? i've been shopping on there for a while now, but lately it seems like there is some made up usernames like t***j, or h***n, m***c, or d***b, and shit like that, one letter then 3 or i dont know how many of these ********** and another letter. to me that looks fake. it looks like people just made them up for the purpose of raising the price of an item so when the real shopper comes by they see a lot of people have been bidding on it and they find a really high price by that time. u guys know what i mean right? just wondering who here knows if this is fake or not or maybe thinks what i think :jumm:

 You have a right to be suspicious Diana. I would not put it past a few unethical business people to try to find some way to make the bidding price rise!LOL!

It means used... cleaned and polished up, almost like new.

One of the pet peeves I have about ebay, is when a seller claims to sell a specific brand series, say Product315 and they ship you Product310.
Ijole, it's nothing to ruin your day or anything... just kinda erks ya.This has happned a couple times with me on ebay - Both times coming form a seller with mostly postive reviews.

I buy and now sell on ebay and theres things you have to do to be on the safe side

*always use paypal
*don't give feedback until they send you the stuff.
*check feedback scores and comments
*check the shipping fees
*avoid auctions where you have to do a checkout off of ebay

By the way, what stuff are you guys/gals looking for?

I decided not to use ebay after things like that was happenin. Also when my novel was posted people weren't happy that a set price wasn't thier. Pay Pal is used now instead of ebay and it can be used for other sites as well. We use Pay Pal, for both the secure and to limit away the "bid" option for those that are trapped into bidding higher.

I never feel what i buy is accurate so i stopped. The best thing I bought was my Halloween cop outfitt this past October. :D It was from a vendor so go figure.

I bought an NEW imitation IPod from China and it broke within 2 weeks. I dropped it on carpet!!

I bought a sweater and it smelled like old stank lady. Also, other items I bought were supposebly from the real store but they look like they were from TJ max. I know cause TJ Max slashes the stiched designer tag. :hmp: :jumm:

at first i would only bet on items i could send a money order until i finally got me a card so now i only use paypal. i do think its safer than giving ur credit card directly to them people. i've gotten an ipod from there, it was used, it has scratches or what not, but it does work really well. it only cost me $100 and its a 60 GB, so i think i got a really good deal. i got all the speakers i have in my truck from there. they aint the best but they aint the worse, and they were new. i basically got everything u need for a sound system from there even el cajon for the speakers lol that shit was heavy! so far i've had a good experience but i know someone will change that one day

I have noticed that lately......a lot. I've bought maybe 50-60 items from ebay, not been disappointed yet. Just always make sure the sellers feedback is 98-100% positive and has at least 100 or so transactions and you should be ok.

For a mechanic, you can't get snap on, matco or mac tools at a much better price!
