Cloverfield

Did anyone go see this?

I saw it on its release day and I thought it was great! It didn't really have much to it: there wasn't any soundtrack or plotline aside from the obvious "theres a giant monster tearing up Manhattan."

leaving the theater, a lot of people said they didn't like it for those very facts, and on top of that, that fact that the camera is never really steady since they aim for a hand-held first person view. While it bothered most, to me it lent to the intensity of the emotions one would feel throught the movie.

SDx gives this movie 4/5 stars. (not 5/5 only because the camera could've been a bit more still)

I agree with you SD, it was pretty good. I did hate that 'witch blair' thing with the camera though lol. That really didn't distract you as much from the film as I thought it would though.

Its not amazing or anything, but its worth paying to watch.

my manager went to go see it and he said it was pretty good. I might have to check it out.

but i'm weird and get motion sickness really fast  . The whole thing with the camera moving the whole time might really get to me. I get dizzy my stomach gets all queezy. that's why i couldnt' watch the blair witch project...i tried but just couldn't do it. Does it move that bad?

there are parts that get pretty crazy...but its when the guy is falling or drops the camera or something but once he "picks it up" the shots steady....

just imagine someone walking/running/jumping with a camcorder and thats what it looks like....

My sister told me she got very dizzy at the end of the movie... I really want to see this movie but I already suffer from vertigo and I don't know how I'll be able to handle it :poundingfists:

I don't plan on watching it in theaters. I also heard it was the typical monster attack plot. Ehhh I'll borrow it from someone that has the bootleg version.
