Pretty scary stuff. For the second day in the world, stocks are falling once again. Today may be another shocking day in numbers. Are you worried??

Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the country and it's not really getting any better for us. It definitely makes you a little nervous.

Am I worried? Yes, and almarosa those are excellent tips-and remember don't have all your retirement money tied up in stocks, diversify and be competitive, with unemployment you have to keep your skills sharp and your info up to date.
Boss, strange, you guys have such a high unemployment rate and we can't get enough people out here to fill all the jobs, everywhere you look they're needing help, willing to give them the best training and people still are just moping around. :jumm:

I agree, goo ideas to keep in mind. Michigan is the poster child right now for sky high unemployment rates. I am on a straight arrow at work. A job here is like having a pot of gold.

The financial reports that came out today indicate that the Deficit is expected to reach $250 Billion-kind of hard to imagine that in 2001 we had a surplus and were not in the red. It could go up about $150 Billion because the administration has proposed a package that would give rebates up to $800 if single, or $1,600 if married. It is supposed to help boost the economy-I guess we shall see-they are supposed to legislate over the issue all this week.

They are hoping that the rebate will encourage spending and ease people's worries, especially when it comes to the markets and 'relax' everyone-that's what they are hoping for. I understand they passed the legislation, but it's just alittle lower than they had orginally announced-$600 if single, $1200 if married, $300 for each child. Those who earn up to $75,000 individually or up to $150,000 as a couple will be eligible for the rebate. They figure checks won't be sent out until June, but they're trying to see just how fast they can get them out. Shadow I'm not sure about south Texas either, but in West Texas, eh, you get paid quite well if you work in the oil industry, education sector or at a law firm, otherwise, mmm you get paid alright, nothing wow, you know.
