Sorry.....this is a touchy subject.. LOL......hahahaha

I know, I was high rolling...but you had to work and RUN ur ass all over the floor...I think I would go back to serving once my kids are a bit older, cuz u get $$$....You know, I would probably done the same thing with that vieja...but I would have bitten my tongue, cuz some words might have slipt.... .wave.

oh girl i know.....sometimes it's hard to wear a smile when they approach you that way but then again....that's the wonderful world of customer service!! LOL . but yeah...i loved serving....but i don't do it much anymore because of my job i have now. i go there and help them every other weekend but that's it....that's enough for me!! LOL

I can tell you that I've seen some people just nit pick about every little thing!! I never worked in the food industry and I'm glad I didn't because I don't think I could've put up with some of the crap ya'll do. We've had some people wait on us and they are just SO pleasant and everything and they have people come in, who from the get go are the sh*ts to their server!! And then we've had servers that look so dead tired and they are just so cool. brwn eyes, pika, how do you two feel about people just going in for something to drink. I mean, I don't know about the rest of the crowd here, but even if we just go to sit for a coke or for desert we still tip too, and no less than other occasions?? :jumm: Well, here's alittle something for you two, because I know I sure couldn't put up with those people! .hugz. :LMAO:

I actually liked when customers would come in and be like ,"nah...we're just drinking tonight" ....it was actually a nice little break from runnin around. I'm like that too though...sometimes my friends and i will just go have a couple drinks at a restaurant instead of going to a "bar"....so it doesn't bother me at all. It's a little relaxing when they do.....you know they're there to have a good time!!! so nope....doesn't bother me at all. ...and of course from their checks not being oh so high...i don't expect much ya know.....they're drinks...lol....

It's actually not the easiest job in the world....and i'm sure those of you (pika) that have served, know what i mean. First, we get paid 2.13 an hour (where i work anyways)....plus your tips....like i said before...their GREAT tips but you have to work for those tips. It's not just handing out food and that's it. Where i work....we had to be at the table to greet them within 1 minute that they got seated.....have their drinks out within 3 minutes.....their salads out within 3 and their food needs to be out to them within 8-12 minutes. And when you're running 4-5 tables at a time...it gets pretty tiring. We also get in trouble if their drinks get less than half full and need to be reminded....cause they should never have to ask. We have to enter the kitchen with something from the dining room to take to dish...and leave the kitchen with something that we're taking out to one of our tables or someone elses. it's pretty nuts. So yeah....when you have those nights where you're getting 2 or 3 bucks here and there........ :Grr: it's not fun....nor does it seem fair but that's the job i guess. you have your nights.....but when you don't........YOU DON'T! LOL

I have no problem with tipping... like I've mentioned before, not much of a restaurant type of person in the first place... so it's not a problem.

Sophie, I don't even know why you still help them on weekends... you're too nice! lol.

I like to tip. Even if they do a shitty job, I'll still leave them something. I know most places have to divide the tips among the rest of the crew so I take that into consideration as well. If the waitress/waiter did a really good job I'll tip about 20-25%

SD.............yeah.....$2.13 an hour!!! But the tips make up for it like no other! LOL. But yeah...crappy hourly wage...i'd have to agree! But a lot of places that get paid more hourly have to tip out the hostess....the bartender....the saladmaker....and i don't know who else....so sometimes they come out good too cause they get their hourly plus everyone else's tips...LOL. We didn't do that...our tips were our tips sooooo.....it was alright!

PETE: Yeah yeah...i know.... :doh!: I don't know why i do it. I guess i am too nice to them. The less i work there....the more i forget and i run around like a chicken with it's head cut off....LOL. I'm losin my touch!!! LOL. But one of these days....i'll be done for good.

Well, I do tip, I have one of those little rate cards in my wallet, haha so I can decide how much I want to leave. It shows like 15,20,and 30 percent tip rates, for the dollar amount. Im too lazy to figure it out myself. My husband eve tips the bus boys and the people that are cleaning an area, it doesnt matter, if he sees an older mexicana/o doing the work especially, he always gives them something along with whoever our waiter is. You have to be really bad for me not to leave you anything.

I tip even more now that I do hair. OMG, people are so cheap. If you come in to get your hair color fixed, cause you messed it up at home with hair dye from walmart, and I have to formulate and find something that is going to match your base and not turn your hair green, or muddy, or FRIED, then give you a hair cut, shampoo and style, dont you think I DESERVE a tip???? Same if I do a pedicure. IM TOUCHING YOUR FEET!!! I had this lady come in who was a dentists girlfriend, and she came in to get her hair done for a banquet they were going to where her boyfriend was going to be presenting a childrens hospital with a donation, and she kept going on and on about their last vacation..well she got thirsty during her service, so I offered to buy her a drink, brought her back a diet coke, and that heffer after all of that, just walked right out on her cell phone, didnt even offer to pay be back for that drink!!!! Thats the last time I took her.

I tip whether its for a haircut, a meal, places where I'm being catered to. Places like Starbucks, ha, thas a joke! However, I don't tip for sympathy just because they are a server. That person chose that job, it didn't choose them. If they don't like getting stiffed, get a new gig.
