Can you imagine what it's like to constantly berated for doing the right thing? We try to help, we care, and what do we get in return? We're called racists.

People like to toss that word around freely, and I don't think it's exactly fair. It's sad, really.

I don't like to just toss this phrase around, but some may say we're martyrs.

That's what they show on TV, though. The media exaggerates negatives for ratings, like when they constantly attack the president and Iraq. They don't report the good things happening. Don't fall into their trap; their campaign of hate.

So, instead of keeping the hate intacked from generation to generation, why don't we teach how to grow, learn and prove them wrong by showing how to take pride, raise above and keep heads up! Without hate? If you here, Mexico, or China your going to find hate, if its on you or not! Making changes would be better insteading of holding gruges. Even if you have to make changes for the rest of your life; leave the path open for a new generation to take over. Young hispanics now a days seem to forget how much "our people" struggled to get what we have now, if its alot or not, its something! And alot don't get led in the right direction or make the right choices! For the same reason, they need more education.

You and I
We see eye to eye
Craving our slice of the American pie
One may be tanner, one may be lighter
In our personal manner, we're each a fighter
Fighting for equality, fighting for unity
Fighting for predjudicial immunity
I'm not against you, you're not against me
We're one big, happy, family
Living in unison, living in peace
All of this hating and bickering must cease

Your post inspired me to just let my feelings flow in poem form. Thank you.

so the right "thing" this country does is to deport people and break families apart? i mean, a lot of immigrants already did that part when they decided to come to this country, and little by little they get together again, but that process is because they decided to go through with it. and when deportation occurs, its not their choice, they have to go if they want to or not, and the rest of the family that is left behind has to suffer because they were forced to.
If you get a chance, take it.

So they chose to break apart their own families to come here, knowing full-well that they may be the only member to "make it." What does that say about their character?

Selfishness.

i dont cosider it being selfish. those people come here with the purpose of getting a job to send money back to their family so they can have food on the table, clothes on their children, and medicine for when they need it? but ok i guess thats wrong and selfish....???

We can't say for sure that the money they earn is going back to their families. They may have just wanted to get away from them.

Some people enroll into the priesthood saying that they love God, but really just want to touch little boys.

What if they came here to touch little boys? Then they get their own little boys here, and have a feeding frenzy. Once they are deported, the threat is gone.

i see what u are saying, but have u heard of EVERY priest doing it?? sure we've seen that a lot do it, but not all of them. same goes for immigrants, not every single one of them send money back home, some do commit crimes, some violate the laws... but thats not everyone. there are a lot, and i mean a lot, that are here to give their families a better life, they are honest, hardworking people. all those that are here breaking laws and all that other shit, are the ones that ruin it for those of us that are here doing no harm to anyone or anything whatsoever.

MAN I'M NOT EVEN TAKING ABOUT THE THOUSANDS UPON MILLIONS OF POOR SOULS THAT HAVE HAD TO MAKE THE JOURNEY IN SEARCH OF GREENER PASTURES. CHALE, LET'S JUST FOR A MOMENT TAKE THEM OUT OF THE EQUATION FOR ARGUMENTS SAKE. I'M TALKING ABOUT OUR PEOPLE ALREADY GROWN, BORN AND RAISED IN THE LAND, WHAT'S UP WITH OUR RIGHTS? WHY GET PULLED OVER FOR DRIVING WHILE BROWN? WHY DOES RJOTC TARGET OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS AND BOMBARD THEM WITH MILITARY RECRUITMENT ENTICEMENTS INSTEAD OF BOMBARDING THEM WITH EDUCATION GRANTS? WHY CAN'T WE SPEAK OUR LINGO FREELY IN THE LAND, WHETHER AT WORK, SCHOOL OR ANYPLACE? THE LANGUAGE IS THAT OF "CITIZENS", THEREFORE WHY IF WE ARE EQUALS UNDER THE LAW AND WE HAVE A RIGHT TO OUR CULTURE, WHY THEN MUST WE BE SCRUTINIZED AND STEREOTYPED AND DENIED OF OUR HERITAGE? IT'S LIKE MANY HAVE POINTED OUT BEFORE,"WE DID NOT CROSS THE BORDER, THE BORDER CROSSED US!
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME TODAY THAT A COUPLE OF JOINTS COULDN'T CURE!

I have not forgotten about all of you, my tanner complected friends.

I'm going to be quite busy for a while, though, so I probably won't be for a tad. I'll try to stop in when I can.

LET FREEDOM RAIN DOWN UPON US ALL WITH MONSOON FORCE, FLOODING OUR HOMES WITH WAVES OF LIBERTY!
