I happen to beleive that we have lost much of our culture because we are no longer red-bone Catolicos. It's like Imperialism has taken its toll even in religion. Protestanismo is said to be another form of European/White imperialism, it is the new colonialism, because it tears off your old traditions and beliefs, and replaces them with a more liberal and non-traditional spiritual system. It's like the continuation of the rebellion and affront against Catholicism that Luther started some half millenia ago. Think about it a little and dwell some on the subject, and then tell me if most of your modern thinking is not owed in large part to Protestant thinking.

Do you believe in confessing your sins to the priest? I believe in private meditation with the Lord, so only about once a year do I participate in the celebration of penance with our local pastor. Whatever sins I have or will commit, whatever my concerns I feel that I only need to express them to my Father, who knows me better than He?

Do you believe that the dead interact with the living? Yes, I do.

Do you believe that demon possession is real? Yes, because not everyone is strong in their faith, and where there is evil there is also good.

Do you believe in purgatory? I don't know, I believe in heaven and hell and the forgiveness of sins.

Do you believe that el Dia de los Muertos is a Catholic holiday? No. We do pray for our loved ones who are no longer with us, but it is not a holiday.

Do you believe that cremation is unacceptable? Yes, my body should be returned to my Father the way he gave it to me.

Yes, receiving communion is something you should be sincere about and know with all you are that it is the body of Christ, to remind us of what He went through to save us.

~> There is scriptures where communication with the departed is established.
~> However, it is strictly warned against to do so.

~> It is written that Jesus himself cleansed people of demons and exorcized them.

~> No. Purgatory is not Biblical.

~> No. Dia de los Muertos is a mix of Native Day of the Dead and the Catholic All Saints Day.

~> The burning of the body is said to have been used to burn witches and such, thus it was not the Christian norm to do so. Not only that but, the body is to be resurrected, thus it is to be given a proper burial,or so it is the Catholic belief as I understand it.

~> No. The communion is done in "rememberance" of the sacrifice Jesus performed on the cross for us. It is "symbolically" his blood and his flesh delivered on our behalf.

~> Ash Wednesdays has its roots in both the Old Testament Israelite rites and later days mystery religion blendin with the Roman Catholic Church, or so I understand it.
