I think its a mix these days,in the old days most Chicano men would not get caught up in chisme,it was considered disgraceful for a man to involve themselves in chisme back then. That man would get black listed by the rest of the guys,(no one would hang with him). For women it was considered alright and a normal practice. Now days though, some guys should be wearing hair curlers,high heels,and skirts! I say it depends on the person, and the circumstances. For example,I will only warn a friend about someone, or a situation that may be very bad for them if it involves danger to my friend(s). (Like hey,if that couple asks to use your phone,don't let them in your house,porque a few days later you may find your house has been broken in to.) I don't think it would be cool, to just let a friend get played! But as far as me caring about what goes on in other peoples lives in general,nah I don't give a damm,I consider other peoples lives sacred space,and their lives are already hard enough,without me or anyone else adding to their grief with senseless chisme! Nevertheless in this world there are both men and women,who love to wag their tongues needlessly!

On the legal side of chisme: You have to watch for slander and libel,both for which a person can be sued,if the situation warrants it!
