MS 13 is one big mafia that controls some parts of LA so they're right there too. The show simply tries to lecture and inform people that don't know anything about all them different types of gangs out there. I don't think they're trying to make these gangs seem more dangerous then they already are. It's real, race wars, and thier gangs are just as dangerous as they say they are, possibly even more.
