GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Democrat John Edwards endorsed former rival Barack Obama on Wednesday, a move designed to help solidify support for the party's likely presidential nominee even as Hillary Rodham Clinton refuses to give up her long-shot candidacy. The surprise endorsement came a day after Clinton defeated Obama by more than 2-to-1 in the West Virginia primary, and it helped the Obama campaign steer much of the evening news coverage away from a painful subject. The West Virginia outcome highlighted Obama's challenge in winning over "Hillary Democrats" — white, working-class voters who also supported Edwards in significant numbers before he exited the race in late January. His weakness is getting the votes of the white working males, he just can reach them like Hillery did yesterday. and that, from what I understand, is the kind of people McCain can reach. I really doubt Obama will choose her for VP, it would defeat his whole purpose of "change in teh white house" pero you just never know... never say never. Although, she is essentially hurting the democratic party by not dropping out to give Omaba a chance to fight Mccain early in the game, I do give her props for not quiting. You just dont drop out when people are demanding you and she is winning all the popular states buuuuuutttttt......I think her staying in the race is also showing that people dont want to vote for Obama. Or a black man or however you want to look at it.
