Stoked by fan fever over the manic performance of the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, "The Dark Knight" set a one-day box office record with $66.4 million on opening day, Warner Bros. head of distribution Dan Fellman said Saturday. The movie's Friday haul surpassed the previous record of $59.8 million set last year by "Spider-Man 3." "The Dark Knight" might break the opening-weekend record of $151.1 million, also held by "Spider-Man 3." "I think they're in jeopardy," Fellman said of the "Spider-Man 3" records. No! We tried getting in and by the time we went yesterday, they told us that all viewings had been sold out since early that morning and the viewings were sold out for today tambie. I was driving back from Midland yesterday and passed by the drive in-mind you this was at 11:30a.m.- and people were already lined up like crazy-they don't start letting people in until 7:30 p.m.!! I guess I'm going to have to wait a few days. Current Mood:

I saw this Last night on Imax and i did NOT like it. It was alright, its not like the graphics blew me away, it was no Lord of the rings, Constantine or 300. The movie has a lot of action so that may interest most folks but i think it was more dectetive talk than action. The Joker stole the whole movie, he is EXCELLENT but i definately wouldnt have spent the 12.50 to see it on Imax. I think its just anther movie with so much markiting hype especially after the death of Heath Ledger. Just my opinion. Current Mood:

Besides the huge marvel comics fans, his death certainly helped hype the movie up and sparked more interest with people who probably wouldn't of gave the movie a chance.
The older batman movies form the 60's are good classics, but these new ones, for me personally, the've gotten a little borring. I stopped interest after batman 3 lol. Not a big fan of Spiderman movies tampoco...
I'd say this new one is worth a wait for online viewing or HBO!
