Do any of you cook using a slow cooker? AKA Crock Pot? I just receintly started using one. I cant belive how efficient the cooker is to use and how convenient it is for working folks. I made BBQ pork the other day and set the pot for 8 hours and when i returned from work the meat was so tender and and juicey it fell of my fork so tenderly, Anyone here use the crock pot? Any favourite recipies?? :crazycook: :hungry: .chef.

lmbo. Of course alberto taught me how to use it

We slow cooked meatballs with BBQ and a little bit of grape jelly, you can buy the meatballs packaged already, and we slow cooked for about 6-7 hours. They were awesome! I served at my pot luck at work, everyone loved it :blushing:

I made breast of chicken. I cut a bunch of veggies and slow cooked it on high for 2 1/2 hours and the meat was so juicy and tender!! Personally, i feel its better than covering it with foil and tossing it in the oven.

caker: you should buy one! They are so easy to use and the you get a lot of flavour since the crock pot acts as a steaming/moisture agent. The meats always absord the mositure..

Sancochar is like "not fully boiled, baked, or cooked" . . something kinda like when you rub on and pile on whatever compliments you want (like veggies) on the main part of the dish, like per say "fish" and you half cook it so that it doesn't lose it's flavor.

That's what I understand by "sancochar".

No, I never heard of that :jumm: I looked up the menu online.Thats strange to use two cans of Dr. Pepper but i wonder if thats for the extras kick LOL cause my dad uses beer on his meat and that fizzy taste actaully gives it falvour. Here is where i look up my menus. From the Food Network, one of my favourtite shows on TV

  They have some great recipes-of course I love Paula Deen-but some of those sound so good and very easy to make. Yeah, Rene uses beer here and there, mixes his own concoction (Mr. Mad Scientist there  ) and will use I know he has used Dr. Pepper when making a brisket-GOSH DARN that thing just falls apart and tastes so good-I have to admit he is a pretty good cook. :yup: :babas:
