Well I dont have much to say but here goes.
Both of my parents were born In Mexico, in towns away from the big cities.
My father was born in a pueblo called Palmar chico and my mother was born in Tejupiclo Mexico.
My father lost his mother when he was 2 years old, and then lost his father when he was 15. at 16, he set out to Mexico city to earn a living by doing on the side carpentry work.
My mother grew up in a pueblo just a couple of hours from la capital. Her father was one of the first sabbath day evangelist of the town, and consequently murdered when my mother was about 17 years old.
In order to survive, my grandmother set out to Mexico city to start a "puesto", which is a small sidewalk stand that sells either food such as tacos or other things ,like clothes, accesories and so on.
Thus, one day while my mother manned the puesto, she met my father.
They fell in love, and eventually eloped (because it was uncommon for couples to live together without having married first). Literally, my father came to Tejupilco in horseback and stole my mother. Not that she put up much of a fight.
So they went back to my fathers hometown of Palmar Chico, where in 1977 they had their first child. I always joke with my older brother at his being born on hay. they lived happily as a family up until they started struggling financially. Immediately after my brothers birth, my father swam the Rio grande and migrated here to Chicago to get a job and support my mother back home. Every couple of months, he would go back to mexico to visit my mom, then swim back across the border.
Finally, in April of 1978, while my mom was pregnant with me, my father decided to bring her with. According to my father, he built her a raft of which he tied one end of the rope, and wraped the other end of the rope around himself. He swam across as she paddled and the next thing you know, they are in Chicago. I am then born 3 months later, also in Chicago and have been here ever since. : )

My dad never really wanted to stay in the United States, but my grandpa was working in the fields since the early 70's, my grandma told my dad to come get my grandpa to go back to Mexico, but my grandpa was making damn good money so he stayed, and so did my dad.
So my dad was living here in the US for a couple of years and met my mom at night school to learn english.
My dad didn't have any "papers" but my mom did, she immigrated from Mexico with legal papers, she was a citizen.
But they got married and a couple of years later got drunk and made sex and the end product of that night is me.
My dad's side is from Tenochtitlan, my mom is from Baja California.
